The centre section of the exhaust started baging and rattling today. Quick fit man reckons its a common fault on Leons. Says it needs welding to the underside of the car... Is this true?:help:
Also, the Carbonio gives a nice whoose on lift off, but today the noise has changed to a longer more high pitched louder noise that doesn't sound too healthy. Is this a sign of a split Bosch valve.

my centre section mounts rusted through within warranty
quite common i believe
they just fitted a new one on Seat
not sure about welding it to the bottom of the car?

id maybe just invest in an aftermarket exhuast at this point

My personal experience of quick fit is that you should avoid them at all costs, I'm pretty sure their interview for staff simply asks 'can you hold a spanner', whether on not they know what to do with it is irrelevant.

I think he might have meant welding the heat shielding! I have an annoiying rattle that resonates at a certain speed, think this is heat shield related!

I had mine welded quite recently, the heat shield wrots through at the centre mount, also had the hanger welded back on infront of the back box at the same time, car is in warranty but Seat garage wouldn't replace, just waiting for the thing to go completely then going to go for after market stainless :D

Cheers for the advice. think i'll take it to a SEAT dealer.. get them to diagnose it, then maybe take it somewhere cheaper for the work.

As for the dump valve, i'll just buy a forge DV
