Did any leons come with a double din head unit as standard? I'm almost certain I saw a picture of one but have no idea where. Looked like the climate control is still below it in the normal place?

I have the dbl fin built in sat nav, climate is at the bottom as per the guide, looks same size. My ashtray is located in front of gear stick so guess you could swap that part out so get to keep power socket or retrofit into storage tray which i guess you will have

Where does the cigarette lighter go? Is it gone? Want to double-din mine, but not at the expense of the lighter; I need it for power

Hey dude, ive got the double din sat nav in my LC too. The cigarette lighter goes inside the ash tray underneath the digi climate control. Its kinda neat. The ashtray slides open and shut when needed and you'll find the cigarette lighter inside the ashtray!

Hey mate, yeh il take a picture for you today and post it up. As far as i know the standard OEM sat nav comes with that setup. Im assuming the first owner bought that as an optional extra so im assuing the layout of the dash came like that as standard. If you want to put one in yourself im not too sure how to go about it. Its a tricky one, it would probably mean shifiting the climate control down too make room but again im not too sure.

Lol - ANOTHER person asking questions about it - hope you've got deep pockets if you want to convert... it'll be expensive! :(

Pabs your definitely right there mate. I heard from a VAG enthusiast that the double din/ sat nav optional extra when buying the car new cost around a grand. To change the layout of your dash to facilitate it will cost bucks i think.

P.S. How in gods name do i attach a photo? Ive gone to advanced and attachments but theres no tab to upload any pics. Anyone?

You could always just buy a standard double-din head-unit, like this one from Pioneer:

the Fascia itself is not expensive and i am totally discombobulated as to How Seat can charge so much for a metal cage.

I wonder are the any schematics out there for the cage, i could knock up something like this in jig time.

OIC, I didn't realise that was what was meant by the previous statements. So the ash-tray is actually a part of the lower centre console, rather than the upper dash part? In that case, shouldn't the OBD port be able to remain where it is? Or does this ash-tray raise the height of the centre console?

Cheers Gav. I think I'd still like to see one with the double-din factory fitted to see what it looks like. Did Dougy say that his is like that?
