Hi,

When I turned the key on my Seat Leon 2000 this morning, the doors locked automatically. When I unlocked them, it happened again a couple of minuted later. Has anybody any ideas about this?

Thanks in advance,

David

You unlocked the car and they locked automatically after a few minutes? That is a feature to stop you from leaving your car unlocked. Only works if you haven't opened any of the doors though.

hello and thanks for the reply - I have had the car for about a year and a half and this has never happened before - i figured it was some fault with the wiring - is there anyway of stopping this as it is beginning to annoy me when i am driving - thanks again, david

When you are driving?

doesnt sound like the thing I was talking about.

You can change the settings using VAG-COM so the doors lock automatically when you set off. If you haven't done that, I can't imagine the car would just change by itself. Otherwise, sounds like a fault and I'm out of my depth...

Your car is meant to lock itself if you go above a certain speed (i think its 15mph).

It's an anti-hijackig feature, and a good one too !

thanks for the help people - I will have to get setup with vagcom as i have not yet, if it's a feature of the car, i just find it strange that it decided to kick in a year after i bought the car - incidentally, it doesn't lock at a certain speed it varies from turning the ignition which it did the first time to 65mph the last - thanks again )
