Door locked *FOREVER*

Hey all, I've just bought my second TDI cupra and it has an issue with the osr door, it's locked, the external handle is disconnected from the locking mechanism and the internal handle mechanism is missing! The cable with the little hook is present and when I put on it it doesn't unlock.... So I'm thinking the child lock is on any ideas peeps??

I had this on an ARL FR 2005, turned out to be the LoJack unit failing with the deadlock engaged. I had to remove both door panels with the door shut (take the back seats out for room) and break the door locking unit apart so that the deadlock mechanism dis engaged. Was a bit brutal but doable. Make sure you have a new locking unit on hand for the refit, old one won’t be in any fit state to use again

Hey guys tried doing what the vid suggested but no luck, thought the child lock was on but peeled back the interior trim and had a look, it's off. So i can't open it from the outside nor inside and the child lock is off... Wtf do I do now? The central locking doesn't work for the whole drivers side so I'm thinking it's stuck on deadlock? Any help would be of massive help.

You have to break the lock apart , the bits at right angles in your first photo.nice big screwdriver! When it parts company the deadlock will release. Good luck and have your new lock to hand!
