Yes, these kits work fine - I did two door locks on my uncles MK3 Golf and it only took around an hour.

Cheers,

o :)

Hi mate

It might be worth taking the door cover off to see what is missing, as you can get these bits from SEAT dealers individually very cheap, i think the paddle was 2 pounds or similar.

dont use force!! unless youre luke skywalker

1. unscrew the locking button, the thing you pull up to unlock the door and take it off.
2. pull the inside door handle to the open position and gently prise off the small surround. (clips into place in reverse ie handle in open position).
3 undo the two philips screws in the inside door handle bit.
4. using two hands to even out the pressure, start say at bottom left of the panel and gently pull the trim it should clip out, then work around the trim.
5. when all the clips are out you kind of pull it towards you and up so it goes over the metal bit left where the button lock was.
6. disconnect the wire from the speaker.

next thing is have a root around at the bottom of the door and hopefully there will be some bits in there you can re-use.

ok so i have managed to get the door panel off and find the broken part! iv replaced it and after a while of frustration got the part in the space and the lock works to lock and unlock but.......

now when i try and open and close the door when i pull the key out it tries to bring the lock barrell with it even though it is connected at the end?!?!!?

any ideas how the barell keeps itsself inside the door handle?!?!

same thing happened to me!!

i had a golf with this fault, my current ibiza the same, and one i have for trade sale, whoever designed the mechanism needs shooting, preferably with a gun not designed by someone in their family!

Have a look at the lock kit on ebay, youll be able to see which bits are missing, the bit on the left is what stops the barrel coming back out. I had my mechanic do the job, i dont remember him needing the circular clip in the middle. But the bit on the left is the bit you need as well as the spring.
