Send me some pics of yourself to cheer me up!

Anyone local to you who knows vag-com, and will be able to tell what it is?

If you only drove out and then back in, im sure the tech could have put down his coffee, and taken a look! And @ £73 i'd tell him to feck off! Unless they can prove what the problem is!

Yeah i have disconnected the battery and reset the ECU and am going to go for a quick drive!

Also the bloke was saying the fault code was related to my coilpack and that it was down to that but he only knew about that going because i told him it had been replaced! I bet if i had said it was my actuator he would have said thats the problem (this isnt the mechanic by the way)

He said its probably either a dodgy part or its not fitted properly but to confirm they would need to look and they would charge me which is fair enough but surely not £73+ VAT? Dont they have to work on the car for an hour before they can charge an hours labour?

im surprised theres not a queue of lads lining up to help you out

if you were round here there would be...look at Tom (forbez) he's gagging to help

dunno if you want to get your hands really dirty but you could swap the coilpacks aroud and seeif the fault code changes cylinder number. but thats not the usual fault code you get when a coilpack has gone

I was going to have someone help me today with it but i havent got much time now as im going out and me and my dad ended up doing what they were going to do anyway

What is the fault code for a coilpack gone? I had one replaced on Friday so i wonder whether it is a dodgy one or the wiring to something is wrong?

Do you know what this fault code means?

What about the pics??

I'll have a look for the coilpack failure, but i'd expect the car to run really lumpy it the coilpack had failed.
Carl has a good idea about swapping them around tho.

Is everything plugged in securely? Open circuit sounds more like the wiring plug is loose or the wiring itself is dodgey. It might be that the wire has broken when it was moved out of the way to change the spark plugs.

well the fault code sounds like an electrical fault, spark plug fine so if the coilpack itself is ok then id be looking at the wiring to that coilpack

as daz said...usually the fault code is misfire and the car feels very lumpy often mis firing and hard to start
