I have just spoken to the garage and i think my car is FINALLY fixed

Drum roll...

They have changed the plugs and put a new number four coilpack on, cleared the fault codes, drove it and that was all fine, so the number one coilpack saying it was running too lean must have been because number four was gone

The actuator was wound in too much and so they have put that back to standard, thank you all for knowing it was that and thank you flash as you were the one that told me mine was wound in although i didnt realise it could actually cause so many problems and IIRC its been like that since i got the car last year?

I originally thought it was the MAF after me and spaniels had unplugged it on Saturday and it ran better, i had told SEAT this but they said it wasnt that and guess what...wait for it...its my MAF!

So after a VERY stressful few weeks i think i may finally have my car back but i dont think i can give her the present yet as it looks like im going to be buying a new MAF tomorrow as SEAT wont do it on Warranty unless they see it and confirm its that but they told me it wasnt that on Tuesday so not sure on that one?

Oh well at least its probably sorted

At least you'll get 2 years warranty with the new MAF, well i did when i got mine from a VW dealer.

Yeah but this is where the problem is

I had a MAF replaced last year and so its covered under Warranty and when i called them to book it in for Tuesday i said it was that, they said they would need to check it to cover is a Warranty part (thats fine) and then on Tuesday they said it wasnt the MAF so now i would have to go back and get them to check it again which at the moment they wont do as they said they were going to check the turbo and turbo seals next and because the bloke looking at my car is a Master Technician, they are not going to listen to me over him so i dont see it getting sorted that way and they may also say its not the MAF as they dont want to pay out for me to get the part free, you know?

Surely they wouldnt do that?

Anyway i think i will just get this other garage to get it and pay them

Oh dear, well i would try your next nearest SEAT or VW dealer, don't tell them any of the problems you've had recently and just explain that your MAF (thats still under warranty) has failed again, hopefully they'll sort you out. :)

I cant find the receipt though so surely the only person that has a record of the other MAF is the SEAT dealer i go to?

You may find that all SEAT dealers have access to whats been done to your car on some kind of database, they always know about my car when i go in. But i guess that could work both ways, as in the next dealer may know that you've had recent problems.

I'd give your next dealer a call and just explain that your MAF has gone but you don't have the receipt, they may just look it up and offer you a replacement or offer to check yours.

I know its silly! I dont know why they said it wasnt the MAF?

I need to get one on tomorrow really so i think i will just have to get one through the garage and check with SEAT and see if they will give me one on Warranty now as its not like they havent seen the car, you know?

Thank you for the offer though its really appreciated ;)

if u saw on vagcom that ur maf was fudged and they said that it wasnt id be asking to see their proof to back it up...proper embarrass em

It did come up on VAG COM but we cleared it and i think that was because we had unplugged the MAF but today the local garage said it was that so it must have come up? How would i prove it now?

well look at their reasons for saying that the maf was fine to start with and see how conclusive it was...a new turbo is alot better for them than a new maf im sure

also if it was running better without the maf then a couple of short passenger rides would of helped your case

im sure its harder for a women show a point, men tend to be determined to be right and wont be told by anyone
