does the issue with your car sort itself once the car is warm?

When i first start it from cold its lumpy and surges a bit (sometimes worse than others) and that settles once warm but its still not right when taking past 4000RPM

What you thinking?

No they still dont know whats wrong with it?

I had a Master Technician look at it and he is VERY good at his job so am slightly concerned that even he cant find the problem although he did confirm there is something wrong with the boost/pressure etc which i knew anyway! I should be a mechanic

He has said its not the MAF and has replaced all the little vacuum pipes by the N75 Valve and checked my Dump Valve which is fine (so they say)

He has now got to go through process of elimination and the next thing to check is my turbo and turbo seals apparantly, although the car is not showing any signs of a blown turbo and why would it? Its not even remapped!

So im confuddled and have got to go back in on Saturday for them to work on it, bearing in mind labour is £73+ VAT i dont really want to be there for the four hours they are open on Saturday as that will be £360 before the bits they use to fix it

Im still thinking it may be down to there being a split hose or one of those hoses that were taken off isnt fitted correctly or split when being taken off but i dont know for sure! It seems that every symptom its got is an air leak really, dont you think?

theres a bunch of us on here with surgy lumpy problems from cold but for me it seems better once warm. it was fine until a temp sensor failed last winter and its not been right since.

my car has had everything checked replaced cept for n75. shows no vag com faults and logs are great once warm.
im waiting to get it back from jabba who have done a turbo upgrade which in turn has caused them to swop ecu over and remap ect so its not that.

they reckon its a fault in the cold start cycle and they say turning off and restarting after a while idling can get the car past it. ill see how mine is once the cars back.
careful how much money spend on this issue at the dealers as lots on here have tried alsorts to fix it.

hopefully your problem is different and they will suss it soon. keep us informed.

Its worrying me SO much, i just dont understand it but i know for sure that it didnt start doing this the hoses were taken off

I am going to tell them that i dont want them to check the turbo and turbo seals as i really cant see it being that!

Could it be the ECU?

You park it on the nearest mountain out of view, cover the interior with lotsa petrol, close the door stuff a rag in the tank, light the rag, and never look back....... so ive been told

jabba swopped mine to no avail.

you can make sure the throttle body is clean and realign it.

one theory put on here was that as the car warms up the metal connections where the hoses join expand making a tighter seal, so a leak would diminish as the engine warms.

im no mechy but if your turbo seals were faulty wouldnt you notice oil smoke coming from the zorst?

i take it youve vagcommed it?

How do they know it's not the MAF again?

Only way to test is datalogging properly.

It doesn't sound like your turbo is dead, although perhaps the actuator is sticky
