logging whilst driving may show if maf is functioning ok or not. Not many dealers seem to do this, purely plugging in to their diagnostics in the workshop and static running the engine, which wont neccessarily show the problem.

Yeah i did try and log the car about two weeks ago on VAG COM but was difficult to do as the car was pulling back when i got to about 4500RPM

I think i got 108g/s at about 4500RPM which i didnt think was too bad but again its wasnt really that accurate as i couldnt do the log properly

Is there a way to tell visually if a MAF has been replaced?

It would be too late now as this was apparantly done on Tuesday and the only way i would of been able to look at the old one was if they had told me that they had replaced it on Tuesday and they didnt do that

Well, I would think they'd supply you with an exchange MAF which would have an extra white sticker with the part code printed on it with an X (for 'exchange') at the end. It depends whether the one whic hcame off was a previous exchange too. I just swapped my original MAF which had no stickers on it, but my replacement exchange unit does.

The update is:-

They have put the new MAF on and its no different, so the one that is on there must be a new one

The car is fine in regards to, its not misfiring (the old coilpack was put back on so i think it must have been a dodgy pattern part that was causing the misfire problems) and the Engine Management Light is not on but the same problem is still there that i went about in the first place

The car pulls back at about 4500RPM - 5000RPM

I am going to do some logs tonight on VAG COM and see whats going on with that so i will put the results up as soon as i can

I really hope something can be done soon, i just want my car back :(

I have just spoken to someone that specialises in ECU faults and repairs

They said that when the MAF is unplugged the air flow is basically read off of the ECU so if like the garage say the car runs fine when the MAF is unplugged it cant be an ECU fault and must be something to do with my air flow somewhere

They told me check the pipes for any blockages etc
