mine sounds rough as a dog in the morning, after about a minute of sat their just idling it calms down, only happens in the morning so i dont worry about it, i just put it down to a cold start as i get no errors etc ..

i wouldnt worry about that unless it stays sounding rough and doesnt calm down

Yeah but it wasnt like that before so there must be something wrong plus i had the fault code coming up?

The garage have just put the old coilpack back on and the light doesnt come on so i wonder if its a dodgy coilpack they put on

Also they with the MAF on there it doesnt run as well but with it unplugged it runs like a stream train, something tells me the MAF wasnt replaced after all?

I was told on Tuesday by SEAT that the problem wasnt the MAF, so if thats the case why when i went back on Saturday did they tell me they had replaced it?

I woud'nt bother with Seat if you want the job done properly first time. Worth spending the cash to get it sorted ASAP at one of the tuners listed on here.

Yeah i know what you mean, i think they are going to order me a new MAF and see how that goes! I will look into getting some spare coilpacks too

I so fed up of all this :censored: i just want my car back :(

dont supose you know any one with the same car, so you just swap MAF's to see if the fault switches car!

I do but it means putting them out and i dont want to do that :(

I just dont see why SEAT would say it wasnt the MAF and then book it in to have the new MAF put in on Saturday and then tell me that it had already been fitted? Its all a bit strange to me

do you not have work receipts for the whats been carried out?

speak to the service manager at the dealer and ask them to tell you exactly what work was done

come on now alex, you need to be on the ball

get all the work sheets out and note what has been done vs what they said they have done but isnt on the sheets

then speak to the service manager and get it sorted, time to stop being nice and get something done

You could try what i saw on watchdog once.....if u have an idea as to what things they are goin to replace put a blob of nailvarnish on them....then u'll know if they were replaced or not....just an idea like...

I was thinking that and i actually did do something like that, i put a 'tiny' dink in it (only enough for me to notice) but when i got there on Saturday they said they had already replaced it so if they are right i had just put a mark in the new one :(

I have checked the receipt and it says they fitted the new MAF under Parts Warranty but thats not really proof is it? I mean the only way to tell is to check its a new one and thats hard to do, dont you think?

I still dont understand why they said on Tuesday that it wasnt the MAF yet they still went ahead and fitted the new one but forgot to tell me and then when i called on Friday to tell them not to look at the turbo and that is was definatly my MAF they said thats fine we will order one in, i said no you already have one in stock which you ordered for me last weekend and they said ok thats fine we will fit that one, then on Saturday told me they had fitted it on Tuesday? It still seems a bit strange to me

logging whilst driving may show if maf is functioning ok or not. Not many dealers seem to do this, purely plugging in to their diagnostics in the workshop and static running the engine, which wont neccessarily show the problem.
