Hello all,

Can someone please answer my following questions on dog bone mounts:

1. What exactly are they and are they worth bothering with? I understand they reduce torsion on the engine/gearbox
2. Whats the cost and who sells them? My car is a Leon FR TDI

Thanks,

Alloy Wheel Reburbishing

Hello all,

Does anyone know a decent place for getting alloy wheels refurbished? Ideally located in the north east. Looking for good quality at a good price!!

I want to get the colour of my FR+ alloys switched to charcoal/anthracite, has anyone done this, if so do they look any good? Any pics would be appreciated.

Thanks very much.

the dog bone mounts are good and supposed to give a bit more grip on the road also reducing the movement in the gearbox and engine therefore the driveshafts.

they are around £ 20 from forge motorsport. they also deliver.

once fitted you will find that when you are pulling off there will be a slight vibration, well a little more than usual and defiantly noticeable but is supposed to "bed in" a bit.

easy to fit yourself also. good little modification for the money.

Excellent, thanks for the response.

Is it one to tell the insurance company about? and do you get fitting instructions with the part?

Thanks,

A bit off-topic but it's about dog bone mounts. I replaced the bushes on mine about 6 months ago, didn't really get any noise/vibration and noticed that it gripped to the road a lot better without 'hopping'. Recently I have had some 'wheel hop' again - is this likely to be due to the weather conditions or should I tighten the dogbone mount some more?
