iv got the pwerflex dog bone mount poly bushes (from forge) and i will be fitting them soon when i fit my coilovers.

thing is... im sure i read the other day that when u fit the dog bone mount/bushes it makes the engine sit ever so slightly lower!

for those who know about bluflame (i have their full system)... this is the reason y the blueflame original Down pipe did not fit my car, as the mould was made from a LCR with an uprated dogbone mount!

so am i right in thinking that if i fit my dogbone mount, i may get issues/problems with my down pipe????

if so im thinking maybe i shouldnt bother with it?

wat u guys think?

thanks,

james :)

they never told me that! i read it on here the other day!

blueflame told me the original LCR the template for the DP was taken off, that the engin in it was lower cos it had been thrashed on track days and that it was chipped blah blah...

and i red on here the other night that the reason the engine on that was sitting slightly lower in that than mine/the other LCRs was cos it had an uprated dog bone mount and thus sat lower!

now this has made me worry about fitting mine!

but it doesnt make sence to me! it shouldnt cause me any problems! would be a crap design if it lowered the engine! if anything it should stop the DP from moving as much as the engine wont rock as much... correct?

so should i go ahead and fit my dog bone bushes?

james :)

Just the bushes, got them from Grant at Westec, about £19 ish, just as effective as changing the whole mount.

FMPFF85-420
Engine Mounting - Dog Bone Bush
Price: £15.95 (Excluding: VAT at 17.5%)

Did the short shift at the same time, two of the best mods you can do.

I watched the mechanic at Awesome fit the bushes to a Golf, and it took him 15 mins max. Not sure about the short shift, no more than 1/2 hour i would guess.

Hi guys, just one fast question. I have read alot about this dogbone mount. What I dont get is, isn't there a mount there from start or is it just one better u buy? Cause I've seen prices on this mount, and £20 isn't much for a thing like that.

Just want to get it straight from u guys :) If I buy the PFF85-420 - Front Engine Mount Dog Bone from powerflex.co.uk, and fit it, thats the only thing needed for the "upgrade"?
My car is a LCR.

Bad english? Sorry, I'm from sweden :)

the dogbone mount bushes are the poly/rubber bushes, you already have a perfectly working dogbone mount, its the standard bushes that are awful.

i did mine on the trolley jack.ever so easy to do and almost eliminates wheel hop.you get a bit of engine vibration for a few thousand miles but it gets better
