had my car 2 - 3 months now and except for windows misting up excessively i've not had any probs with rattles. however yesterday (tuesday 2nd) i got in car to come home from work, 5.30pm-ish, blo0dy freezing as it has been last few days, and car was creaking all the way home, not rattles but creaks, sounded a bit like plastic rubbing against plastic or plastic being flexed. it actually got quite loud 1/2 way through journey to point where i thought it might be more sensible to stop

it did it again this morning driving to work and when coming home, although not nearly as loud. it sounds as though it's coming from the dash area somewhere, the sort of creak you know would stop if you could press your fingers / hand on it. i also bet when this extremely cold snap passes so will the creaks!

anyone else experiencing this sort of thing just over recent days i.e. during this very cold weather? i'm loathed to take it in as i doubt very much they'd find anything wrong, but it'll be embarrassing if i need to take a passenger when it's doing it, makes the car sound as though it's falling to bits!

In front of a PC....
I had a couple of creaks this morning but from the back of the car rather than the dash. Again like you I think its due to the cold snap that we are having (it was -3 this morning when I went to work!!) The creaks subsided and then went away after the car was fully warmed up and the cabin was full of warm air. Could be the ice creaking away or something.

Yep, just tonight actually, in my case it's coming from ice in between the car and door seals, get rid of it and the noise goes.

It could be the heater vents/tunnels warming up and expanding.
Had it in a few cars.

rub your door seals with vasaline and that should stop the ice forming on the seal, as to the dash creaking ,does it do it when its nice and toasty inside the car?
