hi all,
just wondering if anyone else has experianced this, i got my girlfriend to take my car to the seat dealership today to get the radio code and when she got there they told her that because i didnt buy it from them they would have to put the car on a machine and inform the dvla before they could give it to me.
if you could give me your thoughts much accepted.

thanks

Not sure what the DVLA have got to do with it but why not ring the dealer the car was bought from (if known)?. They might have gave it for free. I assume you also looked in your service manual just incase it was noted on the sticker?.

Sounds like a good way to get money out of you for nothing...
When I bought mine there was no radio code, all they needed was the serial number
off the head unit, then they contacted Spain and got back to me with the code...

Just yesterday (friday) i went to dealers (kings seat in Portsmouth) to get code for radio, All they did was take serial number off unit and phoned seat head office, they had it in a matter of seconds and charged me £15+vat for the privilage. Sounds odd that they need to call dvla Bulls**t if you ask me
