Hello All

Just got my Leon Cupra TDI after waiting 2 years!

It fab.

Looking at getting it re-mapped.

Does this effect the insurance?

If you have a wallop can they / will they / do they check the ECU which would make any claim invalid?

Or does anyone know how much the premium go's up by?

Thanks lots

B Fast

yes , once you take your car away from oem spec. the insurance is affected , some companies do not allow remaps of any form , over here anyhows , some policies get affected in ways of increased premiums and/or excesses ,

depends on the company im afraid

Some companies charge depending on how much of an increase the remap has made, some just charge one price for all remaps. The best thing to do is phone your insurance company and find out.

If you crash and they decide to look into your car, which they will, there are ways of finding out if the car has been remapped or not.

If insurance is a problem, try companies such as Greenlight who are great for modified car insurance. In fact, I believe they are still offering a deal whereby new policies can have a remap covered for free :D
