Diesel or Petrol???

But they are screwed pretty tightly together from the start, so will certainly feel faster once run in.
~5k for the petrol
~15k for the diesel

Diesels take forever to run in.:(
Petrols shouldnt take too long. Im sure someone with one will be along to help in a minute or two. But im guessing about 5000 miles.

Plus your breaking it easily arent you and not ragging it ;)

My petrol seems to be loosening up nicely now - about 5.5K miles. Fitted forge 007p and Green panel filter about a month ago, so not sure how much of an effect they are having. Certainly feels more keen now :D

Supposedly, cars reach their peak at around 25000 miles. Also it is supposed to be wise to not screw the car on its first 2000-3000 miles. After that you can do whatever you like. All that in theory....
Another wise think to do is to wait for a few minutes for the engine to warm up before you start screwing the car, especially on cold weather conditions. Saying that i am, personally, a rather conservative - light footed driver lately (my car has got a small engine anyway).

Ive just hit 2000 miles in my petrol cupra, and I think that my fuel consumtion has changed allot for the better since i got it. I never took it over 3000 revs for first 2000 miles which was bloody hard!!!
