Disklok

paradigm

I hate the orange game!
Really don't see the point. To any criminal that wants your car and knows how to get around the immobiliser, they will know how to remove a disklok in about 15 seconds (i've seen it done - I won't disclose how on a public forum however).

If a criminal wants your car he will have it. If he REALLY can't take it, he will most likely damage it trying to remove whatever it is you have done to prevent him.

Waste of money, space, and added weight.

I dont think they are a waste of money, yes even a thatchem approved one like the one I have, can be removed in around 17 seconds by a pro - but that coupled with getting into the car, disabling the ammobliser, getting the armor guard off all adds time - and noise.

The more things you use the more likely someone will try another car.

I guess house alarms are also a waste of money? Well yes they are because everyone ignores them - however statistics show that someone will normally target a house that doesnt have an alarm.

If you want to be really security concious, then have tracker, and have a monitored house alarm.

But I would have though the visual deterrent of having a steering wheel lock is better than nothing at all.

thats true, its the added hastle that is meant to put them off, not how long it takes them to do it. its 10sec they may not want to be sat there breaking into a car.

I got one :funk:

My other half just got me one for my birthday, and it’s a silver one so it goes with the car. She sneakily e-mailed ZBOYD to ask what size the steering wheel on an LCR was (she’s crafty :help: )

It’s the small one your after, fits bang on. I’ve just looked at the box and it’s got 740/0081 on it, I assume that refers to the size

As for it not being worth having, well, I would rather have it on there than not, at least it might put off some ‘scrote’ from just having a go and making a mess of your locks or door or whatever else they do now [:@]

Surprised a Disklok can be removed in 15 seconds (without the key) - I thought there was some kind of Thatcham "attack" test and it was more like 5 minutes?

If it is the case the RAC needs to be up to speed on this one - it took an RAC guy 45 minutes :-o to remove one when I cleverly left the key at home 150 miles away:D
