My daughter has a 2021 Ateca FR and I'd like to disable the stop-start. I've done this on three Leons using OBDII. Will this work on the Ateca or have they locked you out?

Thank you.

no, it doesn't work anymore. you need a module from AliExpress or a good engine tuner. it may be possible to set the deactivation of the start-stop function to active via control unit 08 adjustment

Not plugging anything from Ali Express into my car!

Turning down the battery requirements in the control unit is how I disabled stop-start on my wife's 2017 Leon. The app does not work. So the same adjustment should work on the Ateca?

I have used the voltage method on many cars from MY 2013 to 2019, Passat, Golf, Fabia, Leon....... so far so good. A 2020 Golf 1.5 tsi didn't respond at all regarding change of voltage limit.

In your case - The 2021 Ateca is to new!

19 CAN Gateway 10 Adaptation
Start_stop_voltage_limit 7,6 to 7.8 standard value changed to 12

Yep all the ones marked up as MQB Evo where the stop / start has been knocked on the head using the voltage method

MQB Evo (2019)

So the coding of those cars follows along similar lines. But this is the Ateca thread but those are the ones where things changed. Where on the Formentor and Leon 4 side you eyeball the other models for ideas if it not been published yet and the system in question is the same. There is a related MQB Evo where it's also knocked on the head.

Then you have SFD2 in 2024. SFD1 from 2019 the companies bought the rights to use it. Flag waving thing. So Vag picked up a fee on those MQB Evo models.

The real expert is @East Yorkshire Retrofits ... see what they have to say on SFD2 for reference.

Vag slammed the door shut on everything other than the voltage method prior to 2019 platforms then extended it into the new platforms from 2019 knocking the voltage method on the head, that one you quote isn't the voltage method I don't think which should have been deleted in anycase. Only the voltage method went forwards until the MQB Evo platform and an associate arrived. Old platforms are fine including the Ateca.

My next car will be an EV so I'm not bothered 🤣.
