Hi guys, im new to this site, and looking for a bit of advice.

The dipped hadlights on my car arent working! The full beam and side lights etc are fine.

A friend is an electrician and has been to have a quick look at it and has said that there isnt an electrical supply to the lights. He plugged the metre in at the lights and there was nothing showing for the headlights, but everything else was fine, then tried plugging the metre in at the fuse box (nice and easy to get to eh?!) and there was nothing there either. I hve been searching gogle for hors looking for a diagram to show the relay circuits so he knows which ones to test but can't find one anywhere.

Can anybody help me?

Cheers.

P.S. Sorry if some of thi doesnt seem to make sense, im a woman, and obviously dont understand all the ins and outs!

seperate fuses for both lamps with the design idea that if one goes you can still see what your doing for starters

but if both are powerless then most likely an issue somewhere with the source which in your car is the headlight switch itself at a guess

if you want to get them to email me with your chassis number when i'm home i'll see if can scan a wiring + relay diagram that might help ?

if it helps

21 - SB21 - Fuse 21 on fuse holder B - 10A - Right main beam
22 - SB22 - Fuse 22 on fuse holder B - 10A - Left main beam

end of dash left it suggests for location of box B but that could mean RH instead as it has a habit of prefering LHD locations and drawings but hidden under the end of the dash

thanks for that, it would be fab! Those numbers etc mean nothing to me lol, but im sure my friend would understand it. We have the fuse box layout, and have checked the obvious, such as making sure the fuses are in the right slots etc.

The chassy number for the car is : VSSZZZ 6L25R 080663

Any relay circuit diagrams etc that you could get hole of would be fantastic.

if it helps

21 - SB21 - Fuse 21 on fuse holder B - 10A - Right main beam
22 - SB22 - Fuse 22 on fuse holder B - 10A - Left main beam

Remember it was "dipped beam" lights that were not working, not "main beam".

One maybe silly sounding tip to the OP, when the first dipped beam bulb goes out you don't tend to notice too much and maybe just think that the lights are dirty, but, when the second dipped beam goes out you are now in darkness. Has your friend checked that the bulbs are actually okay - an easy point to overlook and get confused with having difficulty with finding the correct power supply.

We have tried putting new bulbs on both sides, and still nothing. We are really in need of a relay circuit diagram, but after 2 days of searching, can't find one anywhere. Totally stumped.

p.s. We bought the car as a CAT C write off, and have replaced the damaged panels, so i wouldnt know if one headlight went first etc, as i havnt been able t drive it yet, as it has no MOT (

Oooh ya right - dipped - sorry usually call em main and high myself so sorry for confusion but i've got ya chassis so ill trace some diagrams later

the correct fuses:

SB43 - Fuse 43 on fuse holder B 15 A - Right dipped beam
SB53 - Fuse 53 on fuse holder B 15 A - Left dipped beam

how bad was it damaged - just wondering if in the rebuild some connector or earth points been missed?

are all the other bulbs working correctly?

i guess the rest of the car is all up and running ok ?

Thankyou SO much for that! Erm i am assuming they are just the standard lighting? Yeah the rest of the car is working fine. It was bumped on the drivers side, we replaced the wing, bumper, driver door, headlight (drivers side only) and suspension.

Will take all the diagrams you sent to my friend now, and also mention the connectors and earth points.
