din conversion, who's had it done?

I understand this can be done i've read previous threads. i've got quite alot of stereo to go into my car and i really want a head unit in the dash, so basically i want some info on how to go about it ! how long does it take, price, and where to send it + is it ok, does it look ok? anyone got any pic's off this conversion please? really want it done asap!! any info would be apprciated

I did it all myself and its not simple but if u are prepared to put the effort in and know how to cit things and solder you will be ok, if you have msn add me and I will expain all on there

ok i spoke to a good friend who fit's stereo's and alarm's for a living and we are willing to give it a go, just curious how much will it cost for a new screen/centre dash if all goes wrong ?!! thanks for the help. Will

i think a new screen and the hole front panel retails frome dealership for around £200 so ive heard

the whole fasia/panel comes off so doubt you need to take the car

Hi everyone sorry not posted a reply until now but I've been away all week.
CuPRaCaN the job involves the fasica and the unit behind it, it can all be done away from the car, however I don't think i would be able to do it for you as I am kept rather busy by work and i'm only home at weekends, I supose that answers Matt20Cupra's question as well. However i am more than prepared to write up everything that I did to get the head unit fitted. I will of course do this for no charge i'm just happy to be able to help. If you bare with me I will try and get something sorted out this weekend.

Id be prepared to get a 2nd hand one from a scrap yard to try it on if you get the guide sorted! cant be that hard...

its time consuming and fiddly.
what i decided to do was get a spare one from a scrappy ONLY if i needed it (ie if i cocked it up) but it was ok
there is a guide out there, which i used, if you do a proper search on this site you will find the thread. its got everything you need to know
