Difficulty replacing brake pads

Over the weekend I tried replacing my front brake pads (leon cupra r). I started off on the drivers side wheel and the brake pad on the side facing me came out pretty easily. Hovever I was unable to remove the pad on the other side as the brake piston wouldn't budge. The wheel still spins freely so the pad isn't rubbing against the disk and it passed its mot yesterday with an advisorory that I should replace the front pads soon.

Before I take it to the garage and pay for someone to sort it, does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the pad out and push the piston back (I did remember to undo the brake fluid bottle :)). I've read the guide but it didn't say that the inside pad would be any more difficult than the outside one to remove.

the pad will be sticking on the caliper sliding pads and just needs easing out from behind the pad or make a hook and use that in the pin holes

I had the same problem with mine. I pushed the piston back in, but the pad was sticking top and bottom of the backing plate on the caliper.
I had to tap the pad out from the rear with a cold chisel, but take your time doing this!

you may need to put a chamfer on the pad edges if your discs have a raised edge through wear.
