Difference in suspension?

Hi all,

As i sit at work and gaze out of the window at my motor, im comparing it to another ibiza parked beside it. Mine is a 5 door sport, and the one next to it is a 3 door sport. The back end of mine looks higher than on the 3 door - just wondering if the suspension is jacked up somehow on the 5 door versions, because someone might of thought they are more likely to be used for families/carrying luggage?

As far as I know they should be the same.

Maybe the other one has lowered suspension, or something heavy in the boot, or flat tyres

I found travelling back from Calais with an Ibiza full of wine was an effective way of lowering ride height, although the reduction in acceleration was quite noticeable...

Yeah maybe! Its definitely on standard suspension though. Guess i'll just have to drive around with something heavy in the boot untill i can afford to lower it

One of my mates was on about lower bushes or something, can you get these??

Are you comparing the distance between top of tyre and wheel arch? Same wheels? Same profile tyres? The five door has a differernt rear quater panel remember!
If you're just after lowering it, changing the spring is cheap enough (providing you do it yourself) less than £100 easily!

Yeah mate from the top of the tyre to the arch. Same size wheels and tyre profile too, although my wheels have been darkened. According to other threads f i just changed the spring it would wreck the shocks though? I had a look at your pics of the crash you posted.... bloody hell!!

All depends on how long you have the springs in - 8000miles and shocks are stick ok!.. and if you intend on coilovers (like myself) at some point, you get rid of the standard shocks anyway! There were some in for sale section I think!
Lol yes mate, but bloody hell didn't quite cover it at the time!! The crash pictures get more attention and comments than the new car itself!

Haha sorry mate, new car looks good! Hope you were ok after the crash though. Iv considered coilovers, but one of my mates had them fitted to his FR and advised me against them, the roads up here are pants and coilovers are a bit harsh! Quite fancy some Eibachs though - that what you have fitted at the minute?
