Guys, what will be the noticeable differences between getting a brand new set of 312mmx25mm discs for my cupra and upgrading to a custon se tof 325x25mm discs?

its for my 996 carrera brake setup as im wanting new discs to go with the pads, the price difference between the 2 is around 65quid?

just wondering if there a noticeable difference or will the differenc between the stock calipers and the 4pot brembos on 312mm discs be enough?

cheers:funk:

Braking leverage counts for a lot. The further out the caliper, the greater the leverage.

Also, I wouldn't be certain that the disc face sits in the same position. Doesn't the 325mm disc sit further back?

TBH I would pay the extra in getting a good set up rather than just paying the extra to have bigger discs. I have a friend with 2 piece 312mm discs who said they were excellent on the track paired with a good pad. If its purely braking performance I'd go for the better specced 312's TBH

I'll email my mate and see where he got his from.
At £125 plus delivery I'd be dubious that these were going to give you the best braking performance that you can get.
You have to think what it is you want, cheap brakes or a very good braking set up

As I have said, fit porsche callipers good move but this has to be backed up with a quality set of discs and pads. Preferably the 325mm 2 piece discs with DS2500 pads. This would be an awesome set up.

does anyone know, this guy is selling rover zt discs, which are 325mmx25mm, will fit on the porsche calipers no problem

the pcd of the rover zt is 5x100 and the cupra is 5x100, my question is, will the discs with the same pcd fit onto the leon?

anything else that has to be the same? i.e centre bore etc etc? just read the centre bore is the same also.....

mmmh, can get 325x25mm ebc grooved discs for the rover zt for 80quid posted from ebc direct......

cheers, james

The offset has to be the same aswell to space the discs out into the middle of the callipers, this has to be 100% but you can also use spacers to help with this. Are these discs vented aswell?

are mintex discs a decent upgrade on oem or are they the same?

not really into grooved due to pad wear and they car is road use only.......

would need to check the actual mounting face thickness of course as will have a bearing on the alignment especially as it's so close.

i wouldn't assume a 1mm spacer would be the 'fix' as with any custom parts swaps it's a case of covering everything possible you can but you can't beat just bolting it on and looking

ive spoken to the guy again, basically he makes a spacer kit and puts the rover 325mm discs in with the kit. £125 plus delivery does sound a good price, another guy on ukmv1s has these with 996 rears on textar pads and raves on about the performance over stock.
