A friend of mine is looking at new cars and wants to know the difference between the Sport Coupe 1.4 SE and the 1.4 Sport. After looking at the seat.co.uk site, all I seem to be able to see is that the Sport has sports seats and sports suspension. Anyone know more? :)

The Sport has over the SE 16" Alloys in lieu of 15" Alloys, Sports Seats, Sports Suspension & Gearknob but loses cruise control.

The sport does not have cruise control, but it has the twin headlights (a little sportier), sports suspension, sports seats, silver fascia, but that's about all i can see really !. Just picked up my 1.6 Sport today and love it !

Andy

Cruise is not seen as a spoty option, rather a comfort option.

I would imagine it could be added from the factory or retrofitted as they do on the mk4's

You got it in one nathwarr, the cruise control isn't often seen on sportier versions. My dad's Leon SE has cruise control but my Leon Cupra didn't !

Andy

been to look at new car today, salesman brought it to show me straight off trailer at the dealership, and it had a big piece of weld stuck to the bottom of the passenger door. the only solution was to chisel it off and have the bottom of the door resprayed, YEAH RIGHT.So apparently they have one coming into the country this week with folding door mirrors and 17 inch wheels which they reckon will have to be swapped but i say they should leave them on. ive not made a decision yet but i had a run in the new VW golf 1.4 tsi 122 bhp it was mint went like a bullet but obviously a lot more expensive so im not sure what to do and ideas

Thats bad luck ! - the only thing that put me off the VW's is the price, the price of parts and the price of servicing. My mate has a bog standard Golf and the cost of servicing against Seat is phenomenal !, other than that VW are excellent cars, if you can afford to run them lol !!

Can you not ring around your local Seat dealers and ask if they have a Demo Ibiza in ? - that's what i did and both dealers had one in, ended up getting £2400 knocked off on a 5 month old car with less than 2,000 miles on the clock !

Hope you get sorted !

Well one is basically bottom of the range shopping trolley and the other is a warm hatch. Handling wise I bet the mk5 had it licked though.

Yeah i think the mk5 is abit more confidence inspiring, but the 1.4 does not even begin to test the handling!
