Sorry if this has been covered before, but i was just wondering if the Diesel Treatment you can buy is actually any good, or if it will harm my fuel system. (It's the stuff you put in the fuel tank before filling up...)

They say you get better MPG and reduced emissions, but has anyone used this to find out?

Thanks.

Yes im naked in my avatar
You're better off using v-power or bp ultimate diesel imo. Slightly priced a little more expensively, but you get what you pay for as they say.
Fuel treatments are a bit of a gimmick, from my experience. Should only be used if you want to flush out the system

Fifth Gear did a test of four petrol additives last series and proved, using an engine run in a lab, that they all actually reduced power compared to fuel on its own.

Obviously you are talking about diesel additives, but TBH I can't see them doing anything different.

on the older style non PD TDI you have in the MK2 then benefits of the additives are even less, infact i noticed no difference. just the bog standard diesel and nothing else will be fine. along with a good italian tune up now and again to clear out the paths.
