seems that as soon as the engine gets warm in hot weather or long drives it decides it wants to light up and say summing wrong, luckily i found a local guy with a VAG-COM who dont charge the earth for a check!!! seeming to be an expensive motor now only had it just over a week had an EPC and Diagnosis pilot light illumination

my EPC was temp sensor, the new problem is the diagnosis light. i didnt need to replace the sensor because the VAGCOM reset of the ECU sorted that problem. hope it can do the same to this one. fingers crossed . . .

Just because you cleared the fault with vagcom, dont mean the problems gone away.

guess what, u guys were right!!! stupid :censored: sensor is bust and sending wrong signals. anyone know where on the engine the temp coolant sensor can be located and estimate as to how long it will take to fit?? it has flagged up as an EPC problem and now as an engine management problem so think its time to change it an stop just clearing the code cache

its to the left hand side of the block , its connected by a plastic clip, takes no more than 3 mins to fit, no tools required.

if you take the engine cover of your car, take a pic of the left hand side I will point it out to you.

Ive zoomed and cut a section so you can see, its the faint green thing in the centre of the zoomed bit.

Wait till the car cools down, take the header tank cap off to relive the pressure.

D/C the plug on the top of the sensor, pull the big C clip out sideways and pull the sensor up and out. Just do the reverse to put it back in. Might need vagcom to clear the stored error again.
