Am planning on having a detailing week as am off work :D.

Am getting my interour cleaned buy Pride & Performance, Then i want to give the bodywork another going over.

At the moment i wash the car 1-2 a week, And am using Autoglem Super Resin and Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection.

But the bodywork still feels alittle abrasife in places so i want to get off.

So what clay kit should i be looking at?. Halfords do the Meguiars for £23 i have a trade card so might be abit cheaper, But is the Meguiars good stuff?

Also will claying the car give the car a more shine onces polished again?.

how ofter do you apply AG SRP and EGP???

Bilt Hamber Auto Clay is good for newbies, and only need water for lubricant. Not tried the Megs Clay Kit myself. Think I'll be getting some Dodo Juice Gentle Grey soon.

I would advise mixing some car shampoo with the water for extra lube :)

I have used AG SRP and EGP twice since i got the car back in October. I must say the two front wings and bonnet feel alittle sandpaper like. Just want to get the scratches and crap off the front of the car, As the rest of the bodywork is mint.

Sounds like the paint has a lot of embedded dirt. You need to clay the paint and use a good paint cleanser to clean the paint then it should feel as smooth as a babies bottom.

I think your right. Will have to get the Meguiars clay kit tomorrow. And try and do it this weekend, Hopefully some nice dry weather. Could i clay the car now then use SRP and EGP, But come early April clay the whole car again, Or would that be to soon?.

Thanks
Luke

I would suggest using a mild clay to start with. Some more aggressive clays may marr the paint, in which only using a machine will polish out.
