Dropped the car off for a service and a couple of things to look at. Charge flap spring latch has stopped springing, front parking sensor u/s. Couldn’t look at the flap when booked in, too much for a 30 second prod and confirm requirement, so got to go back.
told them front lh inner sensor was the faulty one according to the on board diagnostics. Cost me £65 to confirm what I told them with their plug in gizmo. Apparently this will be around £300.

Dealers are only good for two things, warranty repairs (go prepared for a stand up row) and the single service required during a three year lease (go prepared to refuse all the unnecessary work) - for everything else find an independent who cares about their customers.

It's no wonder nobody goes into dealerships anymore, they simply don't care so we voted with our feet.

We're lucky enough to have a local dealership that is still family run, rather than being part of one of the large groups and the difference shows. So not all are bad, but generally I agree with you.
But if you really want to experience a totally unsatisfactory dealership experience, including the above-mentioned arguments, rip-off labour charges and being constantly talked down to, you need to try your local BMW or M-B place.

hmmm i was keen to pop my car into a seat dealership just to see if my recurring active errors I see on OBD11 scans should be addressed. If you do know any independently run owns that do care around Derbyshire please let me know.
