My battery died today and stereo worked fine before it did. Then I jumped it off a m8's car and the stereo will not turn on at all now. The fuse on the back of it had blown, so i replaced that 3 times! and its still dead. Checked all the fuses next to the drivers door and none seem broke but i couldn't tell which one was for the audio in the car

Its a sony after market HU and its about 1 week old only! What else could it be?

Sorry fella i did exactly the same with an alpine head unit about 2 yrs ago in my cordy.

it blew the power transformer in the head unit and worked out more cost effective to get a new one.

most places will just send it away and charge you about £40 to find this out and then keep the stereo for parts when you tell them not to go ahead.

i kept mine, and tbh its still sat on the shelf in the garage.

chances of selling the faceplate on ebay maybe?

Thanks for the reply. TBH i forgot about this thread so i didn't update it but i was lucky - ity turned out that the 2 fuses i tried in the HU were also blown but didn't look it. What are the chances?

Cheers anyway!
