De Cat Pipe

Hi i was looking at this de cat pipe on ebay to fit onto my standard system and i was wondering what other members think. Is it worth putting on and will i make any power gains ??

I have also looked at other pipes and this one seems cheap !! is there a reason for this that im missing

is it a cupra r that you own? i no its a silly question but i had to ask. scorpion are a good make. i paid bout that sort of money for my de-cat. Power gains is a difficult one as you only get true power gains after a remap. but it will deffinately free up air flow

Hi yeah mines the Cupra R and it already has Custom code remap mate.
Does your decat give the car a good sound ?? i mean nothing to chavvy

well i have a full milltek stainless (non resonated) wiv piper down pipe and de-cat and its only loud when you put your foot down. you shouldnt get a chavvy sound from it unless you buy universal back boxes and stuff. i can actually hear my turbo whistling through the exhaust aswell which sounds pretty cool

Bought the scorpion one mate and had it fitted today, cant really feel any difference in power and the noise is only really a gurgle at low revs, maybe i was expecting to much just adding this to the standard system

you wont really see any gains mate not untill you get a ful system and have the map suited to your parts ... i have a de cat and love it

im also after a decat. the scorpion one from ebay. i have a 2002 cupra r, will this bring up a fault if i have one fitted. also im running a standard map?
i do have the milltek cat back tho

yes mate it will bring up a engine light wont make it run crap tho .. do you have a non res system ? if so will be like mine .. think my de cat is milltek he scorpion ones are really quiet compared to the milltek ones

yep i have non res. dan do i have to have turbo down pipe? also is your light on?

No you don't have to have the down pipe I presume your going stage 2 ? You will gain more from having one but my car hasn't got one and its fine .yes my light is on altho you can get them mapped out

i thinking of gettin the decat in the next few days. asfor remap, probably in january. do i have to have a remap if i go with the decat, i no i would see a big gain in bhp but im sure it will sound better!

Befor I had my remap I had every thing for stage 2 the car ran ok I noticed a big difference when I fotted the de cat and exhaust at the same time if I was you I would look out for a milltek decat they sound better . Your get a lot more gains when its mapped tho think my 210 lcr made 233 on the rollers before it was mapped that was with all the stage 2mods

I personally wouldn't bother untill you get the full exhaust system any any other mods ie front mount inter cooler hoses etc

No worries mate . Black on black is to much I think . White looks great clean but don't stay clean for long lol
