Ive seen a few about on ebay. More hassle than its worth IMO, just save and get a downpipe with a race cat.

Cat is part of the downpipe so would be a bit of a mare having to put it back on for the mot. And yeh i think it will throw a fault code unless you have a map such as Revo Stage 2 to disable the 2nd lambda.

I have a de-cat pipe in (local exhaust place near me made it for me) they fitted it so it can be bolted of for mot and then bolted on after (10min job) does sound good imo, lamba sensor is dissabled (i think) no dash lights come up, but i am now thinking of having the downpipe and racecat but thats later this year after other mods..

Not a great deal of difference-made it more responsive and at higher speeds it built up quicker.... i dont no what it will be like compared to a race cat. i just liked the noise and popping.

How does yours pop (sound wise) and when does it do it?

Mine does it when you are either slowin down in gear and when you just about to change down i blip the throttle, sometimes it does it when i go up in gears.. wierd thing happened aswell today....

I found out about this just because I want to know if my cat has blockages or not.
My local exhaust fabricator quoted me £130 to make up a removeable de-cat pipe. How does this compare? He insisted that if I wanted to proceed then to check on here first because he was concerned it would run lean.

scarey lack of knowledge on his part then

why does he think that you've got a pre cat lambda sensor?

£130 is about right, they have to remove the old DP (and probably the centre section) modify it and refit it - which is a PITA.

So when you go, get some new turbo nuts, and exhaust gasket - else it'll just leak when you drive off

Mine pops quite loudly when changing up grears can notice it in the car windows up and music playing (not to loud) i get a very nice burble sound when changing down and also when i blip the pedel on idle. I had a de-cat on my 206 1.4 and personally thought it was WAY to loud.
