Day time running led not working, possible water damage or?

Hey all,

So i recently removed the head lamp unit to troubleshoot if the led board was fried as one of them was not working (driver side working, passenger side not working).

I would get an error on my dash saying to check my day time running lights upon turning the ignition on, and at first the led would work sometimes and sometimes it didn’t work. This continued for some months until eventually it stopped working completely.

Swapping the boards around told me it was not the LED board that was broken as it worked on the driver side.

Checking the head lamp connector revealed some corrosion on two of the pins. Does anyone know why this could happen?
