Hi, I've got the error codes below, majority of them are databus message is messing. Any idea what it could be? My cruise control isn't working either. I've ordered a replacement RCM/airbag control module as I can't connect to it but now I'm thinking it's probably not that:

Car: Seat Leon
Year: 2014
Body type: Sports Tourer

Engine control module
U042800 Steering angle sensor Range/performance Active/static

U015100 Lost Communication With Restraints Control Module
Active/static

Brakes
B116816 Steering angle sensor Voltage too low
Active/static

U112100 Data bus message missing Active/static

Air conditioning
U112100 Data bus message missing Active/static

Electronic central electric
B12C615 Bulb for high-mount brake light Open circuit/short circuit to B+ Passive/Sporadic

B126301 "Tank lid unlock activation
Electrical error" Active/static

As @RUM4MO says could be battery as vehicle is quite old.
Not sure how good Autel is for Vw/Audi group cars, do you have access to VCDS or OBDeleven device?
With all those errors maybe it's the BCM?

Unfortunately no access to vcds but obdeleven pretty much gave me the same codes.

I did have the battery tested back in Feb or march and it was fine. I'll arrange for it to be checked again

So got the battery tested today and the battery is "good", no issues. The mechanic did say it needs a recharge but the car is used often, occasion motorway driving too, so I am not sure it's the battery anymore.

Not sure where to go from here, shall I get a new ECU/BCM, or even an airbag module?

Thats a bizzare answer from a mechanic to be honest , battery is good but needs a recharge?.
If the battery is on the car and the battery voltage is low you have a charging issue. If i were you take it too a vw specialist if you are not sure yourself.

I thought the same thing, surely the battery would charge with normal driving and if not then there is a problem with it?

I'm gonna check the steering angle sensor and the tank lid error to see if they fix the cruise control and/or locking issue. The airbag issue is concerning though as I'm worried they may not deploy in the event of an accident

Forget the other faults untill you have established a good battery, a good alternator and that it is charging.

Booked in for another battery test tomorrow with a different garage. May even try putting it on charge for a bit and rerunning diagnostic.

If that fails then probably will resort to VW specialist

Did you ever get this resolved? I’ve had the same issue crop up and completely stumped

I'm pretty sure its bacause there is a canbus message missing from one of the modules, so one module somewhere may be offline. Do you have a scan of the full fault code? Is there a number in brackets after the code? Do you know what module is reporting the missing message.

I think it might be the airbag module as gbag was the one that first started showing issues

Just a couple thoughts

Do the DTC clear or do they just come back,
Have you retrofitted any equipment or done coding so the system thinks you have kit and is expecting messages from it.

They keep coming back, I've had them cleared before but they return.

There is no retrofitted equipment.

Problems I have with car:
Cruise control doesn't work
Stop start doesn't work
Front doors do not lock when using the button on door card (they will lock with remote)

Try talking directly with module 15 (Airbag) and see if you have communication.

If not then check power at the fuse.

It's not super easy to get to but check the airbag module plug for corrosion too.

Have you had any coolant leaks inside your car or any other leaks?

I did have a crazy water leak that was coming from a damaged seal by the tailgate. Took me a long time to find

I had similar issues, with "Databus missing message" from a whole LOT of modules, most of them the same modules as yours. There are a bunch of connectors behind the left side panel in the passenger's footwell and the connections were all corroded. The water pipe for the rear windscreen wash runs along with the cables here, and altough no sign of leakage now, I suspect the previous owner had it fixed but never had the connections cleaned up. I also had a CAN Network Gateway "Medium Speed CAN Communication Bus: (-) shorted to Bus (+)", so everything was going crazy i.e. headlights flickering, no speed/rpm on dash, door locks clicking all the time.
Never know, may be a similar cause?
