Hiya all,

My mk3 cupra has recently started rattling from the ajoining edge of the trim that surrounds the stero, airvents and clocks. The easiest way to describe it is look at the light greyish peice of trim that swoops up from above the central air vents to the top of the clocks, by there! I removed the stereo the other day as i was then planning on removing the airvents and then stripping out this panel, lining it with foam on all the ajoining edges and then reassemabling it!

Only problem was i got as far as stripping the stereo out but then everything else seemed welded solid and i couldnt suss out how to remove this trim. Is it removable and if so does anyone have a guide or diagrams of how to do it!

I levered it up from behind gently and rammed some foam door draught excluder in there but it didnt solve the problem, its doing my head in!! [:@]

All SEAT's rattle, why theyre cheaper than the equivalent VW, just turn the tunes up louder. I came to this conclusion after ripping apart my old 1.4 dash and rebuilding it with everything nicely fitted and held in place, still friggin rattled!

quick thought mate.

Put your hand underneath the stereo hole, there is a metal bar that runs sideays holding the centre console together, mine rattles all the time, try giving it a push or pull to move it.

The other rattle i have is the coin tray. other than that im happy

no way, i thought it was only mine that done this!.. its the plastic (curved bit) above the clocks.. when i push down on the top of this it stops. im gonna try tightening the screws up. but dont think this will work after reading all ur comments.

makes the car sound crap inside..

you can hear it above your tunes??? that is one loud rattle!!! mine only does it when my heater is as hot as it could be (obviously causing expansion). Ive never tried to stop it but i would imagine its gonna be a complete strip down job to sort it......clocks out etc....
