Hey guys just driving back from the girlfriends and was giving it some down the ring road next thing going round a roundabout my dash light came on the TCS light.

The car will now only boost to about 6psi and theres not a very healthy smell coming from the turbo sort of area!!

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

James

the tcs light wouldnt come on if the turbo was knackered, its often related to the MAF. If you were giving it some there would be a sort of smell coming from the turbo anyway lol. Did you try turning the car off and on again?

i can scan your car if you want? find out exactly what it is

I bet its my TIP because ive been having a problem with boost when i accelerate hard it only boost to 10psi but when i accelerate normal it will build up fine, i reckon its my TIP collapsing and i think it may have just given up now!!!

Well its not the TIP and there is no leaks in any of the pipes!!

Ive found one of the valves i think its the n112 valve and it has fallen onto the turbo and melted also melted abit of the connector to it which i think is salvageable.

I also took it to my mechanics and got him to scan it and it came up with quite a few codes which are:

16524 Bank 1- sensor 2 no activity (P0140)

16518 Bank 1- sensor 1 no activity (P0134)

17523 02 Heater Circuit (Bank 1- sensor 1) short with ground (P1115)

17522 Bank 1- sensor 2 resistance to high (P1114)

16486 Mass Airflow Sensor- G70 Signal to low (P0102)

17697 Overrun Valve Turbo- N249 short with ground (P1289)

17829 Secondary Air Control valve- N112 short with ground (P1421)

17843 Secondary Air pump relay- J299 short with ground (P1435)

17525 02 heater Circuit (bank 1- sensor 2) short with ground (P1117)

17955 Control Valve Boost Pressure- N75 short with ground (P1547)

17833 Tank Ventilation Valve- N80 short with ground (P1425)

Im thinkin most of these will go away if i replace that melted valve or am i wrong?

Help will be much appreciated

Thanks

James

same problem I had.

Under your steering wheel there is a black cover behind which are your fuses. Open it and look at the bottom row of fuses left to right. I think the 4th one is a red 10 amp fuse. thats blown.

what valve are you talking about?

the codes you're showing only have to do with that fuse.

The valve later on in my thread refers to one of the n112's to fell on manni. It has nothing to do with your codes.

If you do still have the valves, then don't pay 24 quid for a new one. simply buy 2 resistors for about 5 quid and place them there instead of the valves. that way you will never get codes angain, cleans up your rockercover and you might hear your DV slightly more

no problem.

note though, in my thread it says I had to replace it for a heavier fuse as it kept going. I still have the heavier fuse in and never happened again.

Don't really know why they go, think it has to do with your lambda sensor. but as said I have run it with the heavier fuse since september and been absolutely fine
