i was wondering, i'm looking to change my dials to white ones and was thinking of changing the bulbs (if poss) to blue ones, i was therefore wondering if anyone has done this and how hard it was and also what bulbs i'd need.
Many Thanks
Wayne.

Isn't the illumination colour from a tinted plastic filter rather than the colour of the lamps? It certainly is on the heater controls. I think it'll be a bigger job than you'd think to change the illumination colour

It is from some plastic film mate, yes. I did this on my Corrado, and its fairly easy, just a little time consuming.

You can remove the coloured film and replace with a coloured LED, or you can just replace the film with a different colour. You can get it from hoobycraft and the like.

Be sure to mark where the needle sits before you reomve it from the clocks though, otherwise it may over/under read. If its like my Corrado then although the needle sits of its rest, this isnt the furthest it wil travel. You may need to lift the needle over the rest, and see if it travle a bit further. this is where you need the mark.

my old fiesta had a colour filter too, however my vauxhall corsa just had 501T twist fit bulbs which you can get a direct led replacement for...duno about the leon though...although after seeing the passat blue and red lights, they would be nice!

I would have thought that would only be on the dials themselves, whereas you "could" change the MFA bulbs if wanted.
