lol cant be to much worse than it is now. there will be loads of felt tape dw. think its rattling in the 2 main clips tht it slides onto. VW's are a nitemare for it and it sounds like tht sort of area. had enough of driving round with my hand on the dash to get some peace.

I had a really annoying squeak noise which i couldnt locate for a while. I took the car to seat as it was driving me mad, though they couldnt even work it out. They said there best guess was the centre console. I eventually took the dash apart and took it for a drive to find the squeak was still there. I found the noise was coming from the mounting plate at the bottom of the dash. The screws which held it in place simply come loose and needed to be tightened. Ever since i had done that the my dash has stopped squeaking. Hope this helps.

fanks for tht 20vt cupra. im used to messing round with dash rattles from. its doin my head in so thought i would sort it. i think my noise is comin from them brackets u are talkin about so i will make sure there tight and use lots of felt tape so the dash cant move around anymore.

I feel your pain. I bought my Cupra about 5 weeks ago now and couldn't believe how noisy it was inside. I had a bad rattle comin from the boot which I've managed to reduce by 99.99% by greasing the boot catch and now I have one on the dash which goes if I put my hand over the top of the dash that covers the rev/speed counters.

Wondering if there is anything I can do about it without taking the dash out as they never quite go back in the same as they came out.

I have exactly the same rattle :) my cure at the moment is to turn the stereo up. works a treat but want to fix it.

Yeh i have that rattle over the speedo and you put your hand on it it goes off, ive had stereo and instrument cluster out and couldnt solve it and i do this for a living, exactly how do you access the plate where the screws are, do you just remove the stereo or need to remove the centre console?
