Darn, it's playing up...

Evening all, just after some advice.



Our LCR is playing up for the first time - not keen on starting (but will eventually), verrrrry rich running and overrunning (black exhaust), engine light on etc.

I'm thinking MAF is the first port of call (and a quick search on here seems to indicate that). Any other thoughts or anyone else had this?

if the engine light is on then its simple to just get it plugged in and checked rather than guessing what it could be from other peoples symptoms...

get it fault code read on a diagnostic machine, most garages have the equipment now.

Watch out for cat damage if it's throwing unburnt fuel down the pipe too.

get it scanned.

as JS said, sounds like a coil pack, but get it on vagcom to be sure
