seen a lovely leon in need of tlc to get back on the road

i wanted to know if the front panel which is pretty big is bolt on of spot welded

bump looks lght but looks like it will need:

bumper
bonnet
front panel
cross member
drivers headlight
drivers airbag
airbag ecu
2 x tyres
possible rads

its a 2003 03 plate 1.4 S

anyone give me a rough indication on what its worth and what they think of it

To be honest would it be worth it? The time and money taken to fix it would probably buy you a non pranged one, plus you'd have hell of a job selling it afterwards

It would be either a Cat D or C car if it is in a scrap yard. If you did get it repaired on a Cat D the value of the car drops approx 30%. If its a Cat C car then you will lose the same value plus you would need the car to be checked to see if its road worthy, and thats a lengthy process.
Current values of dealership 1.4s' are around the 4-5k mark, so £1500 don't seem to bad, but think of all the hassle of getting it repaired, painted, and possibly checked and you will probally reach that price. Then take the depreciation for the year and the Cat D, C damage depreciation then its really not worth it imo.

I have a brand new front panel, a brand new cross member and one headlamp if you live nearby.
I can post pics if you require them.
PM me and lets deal.
But try to find out what cat the damage falls into.
sounds like a good deal if you want to use it longterm.
Just make sure you get it properly jigged and panelled otherwise you will regret it bigtime.
try to beat the price down a bit more to make allowance for the cost of an airbag seat belts and module.

if it was a cupra id say it may be worth it but as its a 1.4 you may as well get a push bike

front panel and crossmember is a straight forward bolt on job provided you use a proper laserjig (please dont cut corners as it wont line up preperly)
feel free to ask me questions as i have done one alot worse than yours

I'd be REALLy surprised if the Chassis legs weren't completely shagged!

its not a big deal if the chasis legs are bent.
thats why it can be panelled and jiged 99% to pre accident level.
