I have had a runin with a fox this evening coming back from Warwick.

Does anyone have any ideas on the cost of a new radiator and under cover splash guard for the car. Its a 2007 FR model

iirc when i got a quote for a rad for my old 130 sport (should be the same for the FR) from Seat it was about £150 and id say the guard would be about £30. Best just to give your local Seat part place a ring.
Then if you're getting a garage to change the parts get them to order them aswell as they'll get a discount.

I spoken to the garage and they reckon it could be £400 if the air con rad had gone as well!

This is most likely your best bet. http://cart.carcooling.co.uk/index.php?p=catalog&parent=1105&pg=1

I couldn't see one for the FR model, but there's one for the Cupra R. I'm not sure if they use the same rad though... Anyway, it's £85.47 inc VAT and £10 'carrige'. Rads are brand new and come with a 12 month guarantee.

Fitting the rad (on a mk2 at least), is easy enough. 20 min job, maybe less. but then again i don't have aircon and that makes a big differance. If you have aircon you have to remove the grille, bumper and slam panel.

This is really easy though. It's just a few screws and bolts. Should only take about half an hour. To remove the old and fit a new rad should only take about 1 and a half hours, 2 at the most. A garage will milk it though. Especialy if they're a bit dodgy. (So many of them around these days...)

If you've got a Haynes Manual for your car, and a basic tool kit, i'd say have a go at it yourself. Even if you have to buy a Haynes manual and basic tool kit it's still better than paying up to £400...

Sorry for the long post but i thought i'd be thorough...
