Hi all, My leon started spluttering on way home from work tonight.

Read code got, Cylinder 3 misfire code P0303.
Im gessing its either spark plug, coil pack or leads
Has anyone had this problem? What is the main issue with this misfire? Is it easily /cheaply fixed?

cheers

It's most probably a coilpack, I've had my car nearly 5 years with no coil issues and in the last 3 weeks I've had 2 coilpacks go on me.

anyone of the above but would bet its a coil alright....they tend to go in all vw, audi, seats..could start with the plugs and work your up to the coil but given the history id go straight for one to be honest.....in fact to be safe id replace all 4.....

its easy to change coils.plugs. if you wanna find out whats wrong and have a wAY OF READING THE CODE AGAIN. SWAP A PLUG 1ST WITH ANOTHEER CYLINDER AND SEE IF THE MIS-FIRE MOVES. IF IT DOES ITS A PLUG, IF IT DOESNT DO THE SAME WITH THE COIL PACK AND THEN YOU WILL FIND OUT IF ITS THE COIL. IF IT STAYS AFTER SWAPPING BOTH THEN YOU COULD HAVE OTHER PROBLEMS, ITS BETTER THAN THROWING PARTS AT IT TILL YOU FIX IT. BUT YEAH IT PROBS IS A COIL LOL

well done for being on here for 2 years and not really be aware of the coil pack issue :)

Id say its 99% sure it the coil pack, very common fail, they have even been recalled on skodas, audis and VWs, it also seens some seats lately also.

So it might be an idea to visit a dealer or call one with batch number info to confirm. however dealers being the PITA that they are will want to see it on the car and test it, - but also say dont drive the car.. great!
Id not buy off ebay, id say go to GSF and get genuine parts, and consider getting a spare as if ones gone it might be the other 3 are getting to that age where they might let you down.

Sparks if changed at correct intervals and are correct type shouldnt be an issue.

New to resurrect this as I need help! Cylinder 3 misfire - changed the coil pack (after doing the coil pack test) still misfiring. Changed all 4 spark plugs. Still misfiring - Havnt got vagcom but a guess would be cylinder 3 misfire and the same code. Cleaned all the connectors with electrical cleaner and still not working. Changed the coil packs and it's not the coil pal. So - is it the wiring/connectors? And should I buy this then:
