Cutting out Cordoba 1.6CLX

Guys, I have an odd problem. My 1.6 CLX Cordoba 1995 model has an odd problem. From cold it starts no problem and runs for a few minutes. Then suddenly it cuts out and will not start, checked it through and there is no power to the pump, dead as a doornail. Leave it go cold and it starts great again and so on.
Any ideas????

thats a vw corrado matey, different marque and model.
the cordoba could still have a dodgey ign barrel tho.
