Glad to see my custom heat shield design has been of use
Here is how it should look when finished....
What size sheet alliminum did you guys get? and how did you bend it? was it in a press?
where did you get it from?

hello buddy. sure has shame it took me this long to get this far although i have had to change the design on mine a little
i can now see why you have the hole close to the base on the pflo you cant do this
so where did you get your aliuminium from?
and howmuch did you gt i think 700mm by 700mm should be enough?

I'm sure aluminum would work well providing you have the tools to fabricate it, although aluminium does absorb a lot of heat so may not be as efficient as plastic. I used perspex/acrylic sheet to make mine. You just need to be careful while cutting it to shape as acrylic is so rigid it can break fairly easily. Once you have it cut to size you just need to heat it up and bend it to shape. I used clamps to hold it to my work bench then bent it downwards agaisnt the edge of the bench for a nice clean bend.
yep aluminium does absord heat but im insulating mine with araflex thermal insulation sheet
i will put a thermal coupling in there to do a few tests before settling on the thickness i will use and compare it to actual air temperature at the time to see how much deviation there si from the delta.
One heat sheild done. mind you the bonding glue isnt the best but might re-do it eventually.
Will update pics tomo?
yeah apart from the movement i think i might take it out and re-glue it as the bonding isnt very strong, and secure it to the fuse box and grille area.
How did you attach yours -pseudonymous-
