Custom Code Stage 1 on LCR

For those that have had a CC stage 1 on a standard LCR how have you found it in terms of torque steer - is it much worse than standard or do you just get used to it.

Also, when having stage 1 (or before) did you get a forge dump valve and new TIP?

Finally, what did you do about insurance - keep quiet or declare and if you declared did it make too much difference?

Cheers,
James

errr ALWAYS declare mods on the insurance mate, otherwise you are committing FRAUD!
In terms of the mods anyway, I use Chris Knott/Greenlight/Herts and they accept stage 1 map as included in the policy!!! All other cosmetics were fine too. £490 fully comp, inc mods, business insurance for me and the wife!!

Stage 1 CC - On previous R I had TIP and Forge DV done yes. On the car I am looking to get Sat, TIP hasn't been done, but will be getting done if I get the car!

Declare it mate. I did with all my mods with flux and it didn't make a difference upon renewal but I paid about £40 for the 6 months inbetween for informing them about the full 3" exhaust and Stage 2 CC map.
Worth it IMO for peace of mind.

I went straight to stage 2 but that is not that much more in power/torque I believe. I don't think the LCR suffers from torque steer too much tbh but with stage 2, plant your foot and the wheel get a bits lively as too be expected but is easily controlled. For a pure upgrade point of view the TIP and DV will always be a bonus and are much better made than the OEM items. I'd get them anyway.

Torque steer is definately greater than before and you have to hold on tight first time you gun it - but it's probably the smoothest map out there, with less peak torque than some of the others...

I got a forge dv and jetex cotton filter when I got the stage 1 done in March. I'm getting the silicone TIP put on the car when I have a service in August for peace of mind so that I know that I'm not getting any constriction in the airflow to the turbo.

When I declared my mods (Direct Line) only the remap actually increased the cost (+£85).
