Cupra with Standard Recirculation Valve?

Hi All
I had a fantastic call off Admiral informing me that Adrian Flux had told them I was using a BOV, I corrected them and stated it was a Re-circulation valve but confirmed I had one. Admiral are telling me now this is classed as a performance part and they cannot insure the car with it on.

After asking why a Re-Circulation valve is classed as a performance part but an "Induction kit/Jetex air filter" wasn't the call was relatively silent. Regardless, I may or may not have a remap, I cant confirm this...

Is anyone running a Remapped Cupra with a Standard re-circ valve, Or does anyone know what would happen if you did? I dont want the fecking thing exploding or something?
Could it cause damage if under alot of pressure?

You should be fine mate.

I know of someone on here running just shy of 500bhp who runs a standard DV.

Its a bit of an Inside joke.
We went to the Isle Of Man and I called to tell them I'd moved the battery to the boot.
Upon stating it was for costmetic reasons and that it would free up space in the engine bay for my cone filter the lady said in a very strong indian accent

"But why do you want it in the boot"
Because it free's up space in the engine bay and makes it look cleaner and free's space for my cone filter

"but... there must be a reason"
Yes because I want more space in the engine bay and it free's up space

"Your not answer my question Mr Ramsey I must know the reason"
After spending close to 20 minutes of this repeated action including me saying "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY, IT INCREASES BREAK HORSE POWER"

I should of been socialising she finally told me that she'd put it on the policy, total nightmare

The trouble with the standard re-circ valve is the spring is too weak to hold back the increased turbo pressure and can leak past causing a drop in boost and performance.

You probably wouldn't have much problem with a stage 1 map.

Or use a black recirculating one, to be honest if they looked they probabaly wouldn't know what they are looking at.

The standard re-circ valve does'nt have a spring as they are a diaphragm type valve.

When they fail the diaphragm normaly splits, therefore passes air.

Why did Flux dob you in? was it sour grapes because you'd changed from them to Admiral?
