I have an Ibiza Cupra TDi with the following spec:
custom code phase 1 remap
Full miltek system, green cotton panel filter, sachs clutch.
This morning while driving to work I experienced loosing the turbo. Basically I was driving the car up a hill ( was giving it some welly) when I went to change from 5th to 6th I noticed a big power loss. I limped with it for a bit, then pulled over to have a look under the bonnet incase a hose had come off etc.
Nothing untowards was obvious, upon re starting the car and driving off the turbo seemed to be working again ( I did however feel it wasn't running as well, but that could be physchological)
Driving it home was also fine & I could not repeat the symptoms.
Does anyone know whether the turbo system has some protection, i.e overboost & this is what I encountered, or is the turbo itself showing signs of wear/failure.
I have read on the forums that in it's current state of tune it is close to the standard turbo's limit, but I don't want to change it to a hybrid unit unless I have to.
Any feedback would be welcome, especially off people who have experienced similar issues.
