Sometimes when i turn my car off when its been running and i try to start it about ten minutes later, it will take a while to start and when it does it will idle as tho the choke is on and sometimes misfire until i start driving it! Does anybody have any ideas what it could be?

thanks

Had a similar thing on my orion. It was an oil seal issue where it dripped into the engine and misfired once of twice on start up and ran lumpy for a few mins eventually sorted itself out. It smoked a little bit and oil was going a lot. could be a possibility its same as yur having, other than that a few months later i had to change the sparkplug as a piston was hitting it and flattened the end of plug which made things worse lol....but then it is a ford :p

Would presume he means the Coolant Temperature Sensor.

Common fault on VAG vehicles. Really easy to change make sure engine is cold, disconnect wiring from sensor, pull retaining clip out to side and lift sensor out (make sure rubber seal comes out), fit new sensor with seal, push clip back in and reattach wiring.

the coolant temp sensor is on one the main coolant hoses on the side of the head underneath the charge pipe

they ain't very expensive

however if it was failing your temp gauge would be reading dodgy too

Sounds like the coolant temp sensor then. Your car should always run at 90° regardless of the ambient temps outside.
