Cupra rear bumpers

Hi peeps, just posting on behalf of Bunnin, as we fitted his new Cupra bumpers on friday night after work, and i must say, what a complete ******* they are to do  didnt leave work till 9pm.

Anywas, front went on ok, and the rear was okish, but its just that the boot is now sticking out slightly more than before. Has anyone had any problems fitting there cupra rear bumpers before? or did you get the garage to do them?

Thanks in advance

Theres 2 dodgy lips on them that need bending slightly that we found mate...

Theyre on the top flat part that runs along the boot sill - on the far left and right hand sides where the bumper starts to curve upwards.

Look inside the bumper on that line and youl see 2 ridges where it slides into the car however at the edges it gets VERY tight and stops the bumper from going all the way in. Try just bending the plastic out of the way.

It was making my boot collide very slightly with the bumper so check it sooner than later so it doesnt foul on anything

ok cheer ed, yeah think that may be whats causing it tbh, as the top section of the bumper is very flimsey, and you can press it down/flex it when the boot is shut.

if the boot is sticking out more then surley the bumper is to far in so im thinking more the brackets that sit round the lights and under the boot under the bumper. the torx screws have loads of adjustment on them try loosening them all off (easily 20+ of them) and pulling the brackets out a little to bring the bumper out to make it sit better with the tailgate!

or try the rubber adjustments on the boot as they could need adjusting inwards to make the tailgate close more hope this makes sense

All done :D :funk: twas a mixture of a few things that werent sat right. There are 2 big pins under the crash bar that slot into the bumper, one of these was sat slightly pointing dopwnwards, and also with the lip that the bumper slots into at the top under the boot we shaved a bit off each one of them but bumper is on, no ratteles or anything.

Will upload the pics on behalf of mr bunnin shortley
