Cupra R or Top Sport 4x4?

Hello, had 6j Ibiza Cupra R210 and really enjoyed it. Now i have 6l Ibiza Cupra R TDI and thinking about buying a Leon.
Can not decide which would be better Cupra R or Top Sport 4x4. Both have 1.8t 20v engines which can be easily tuned for more hp, but with Top Sport i would also have 4x4.
Maybe I'm missing some information about Cupra R, because lowest price one costs around 4k euros and you can find Top Sport for only 2k.

We never got the 4x4 at all here in the UK, but I'm not aware of them ever making a 4x4 version with the 1.8t.

I always thought that the 'Top sport' 4x4 editions were diesel powered, and that the only petrol version of the 4x4 came with a 2.8 litre VR6 engine.

I was thinking the same. That you could get 4x4 only on diesel or Cupra 4, but today found out that there is Top Sport 4x4 with 1.8T 132kW and they were produced from 02-04.

I think the reason Cupra Rs are more expensive is because of the UK market. Prices here are quite high so that may be influencing other areas.

It comes down to what you want to do with it. Stock the Cupra R is quicker, it's also cheaper to get nice levels of power from (has some stronger internals from the factory, the BAM engine does anyway).

If you're going for more than 300ps I'd go with the 4x4 as upgraded internals would be on the list and then there's 4x4 to help put the power down, plus multi link rear suspension.

Just wondering where these €2000 Top Sport 4x4s are as I can't find them anywhere
