Cupra R - jerky!?!?

First thing in a morning, my LCR225 is smooth as a smooth thing on a smooth day in smooth land, but when I have been parked up most of the day and then get in my car again (after work for example when it's a hot day), it seems to be very jerky until warmed up! A bit on/off on its own accord so to speak, I mean very noticeable!

Has anyone else got a similar problem and what if anything was done to resolve it?

I wondered if this might be engine management or lambda probs?

Cheers

Sounds similar to what I had, although mine was a bit jerky first thing in the morning aswell, and that was down to a coolant sensor.

Used to have the exact same thing on my old ST170. Fine in the morning, then on hot day when left in carpark all day it jerked for a while.

I have exact same with my LCR but after reading a few topics on here it seems normal to be jerky when cold so ive not bothered to look into it.

mine was the same, jerky on constant moderate accelerateion. Last night it all went to pot. Jerking like mad, no power, diagnostic light on. Needless to say it's gone to the garage this morning. :-(

Dont rush to spend unless you know exactly what it is! Surely if there was a problem the Diagnostics Light would have come on? These cars are pretty sensitive to pick faults up

Dont quote me on anything here im just trying to help

yeah will do. My wife had a similar problem on her peugeot recently (although it didn't og bang like mine did) and hers was the lambda sensor. Cost her about 150 quid to get it sorted. I've had that go on a beemer before too. i think in my case it might be more...

I used to have intermittent jerkiness in my Leon..... and it was a problem for a couple of years until someone suggest cleaning the throttle body.

I had the dealer do this at the next service and hey presto..no jerkiness ever!...now I have had it cleaned every 18 months or so and it has been as smooth as a smooth thing

It is worth a try as it is relatively cheap to do and can make such a difference!

Hope you all get it sorted... my old Cupra has now done 72 000 miles and feels like it is just about run in now... pity I need to change it soon for a diesel estate...due to the impending birth of my first child....

Hope you all get yours sorted.

The problem on mine turned out to be two failed ignition coils. This was the source of the big failure on Wednesday evening. Haven't had a chance to test the car properly since to see if they were the source of the jerkiness or whether that was just something else that happened but at least it runs now!
